Mounds of red strawberries and gallons of whipped cream, fresh-baked sweet potato pies and tons of other delicious foods await a hungry crowd at this weekend's Floral City Strawberry Festival.

There will also be live music, arts and crafts and a children's game area.

If you go today be prepared for rain. The forecast calls for possible showers, with the chance of rain 60 percent and a high temperature of about 67. Sunday's forecast calls for more sunshine, although it will be colder.

The annual festival, at Floral Park on U.S. 41 S, runs today and Sunday. Hours are 9 to 5 today and 9 to 4 Sunday. Admission is $2. Park at the Citrus County Fairgrounds on U.S. 41 and catch a free shuttle bus to avoid traffic.

In other activities:

-True West continues through March 18 at Playhouse 19, 865 U.S. 19 S, Crystal River. The play tells the story of two brothers: Austin, a Hollywood screenwriter, and Lee, a petty crook and drifter. Sibling rivalry boils over when Lee suddenly steals all of Austin's creative thunder, leading to disaster for the tiny house they share. Box office hours: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday to Friday and one hour before show times, which are 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students.

-The Citrus Jazz Society's next jam session will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Magnolia Ballroom of the Plantation Inn at 9301 Fort Island Trail, Crystal River, with jazz and Dixieland music.
