VALRICO: A pair of property owners have a vision for Valrico: more fast food, more banks and more shopping centers. Michael Abdoney and Edward Gorman will appear before the County Commission asking to rezone 8 acres of commercial space at the northeast corner of State Road 60 and St. Cloud Avenue. They need a change from agricultural and commercial to a planned development. The plan calls for equally divided space for offices, a convenience store with gas pumps, three restaurants, and a bank with drive-up windows. The owners requested additional time in February to figure out how to handle mobile homes on the property. The request goes to county commissioners on Tuesday. Petition 06-1207 SEFFNER: Developer D.R. Horton wants to modify two entry locations for a townhouse complex at the northwest corner of Lakewood Drive and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The complex has already been approved for 194 townhouses and commercial space. The developer wants to shift access points on both Lakewood Drive and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The County Commission will hear the request Tuesday. Petition 07-0272 RIVERVIEW: Developers of Riverview Lakes, already approved for 415 units on U.S. 301 between Murphy Road and Gibsonton Drive, are asking for taller buildings. The developer wants county commissioners on Tuesday to approve an increase in building height from 35 feet to 50 feet. Petition 07-0349 Andrew Meacham can be reached at 661-2431 or ameacham@sptimes.com.
