RUSKIN - The man accused of causing the high-speed crash that killed 10-year-old Ismelys Regalado in October turned himself in to Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies Thursday.

Deputies could not find him after an arrest warrant was issued in February. But Thursday, 24-year-old Andy Claudio appeared in court for his 9:30 a.m. bail hearing and was taken into custody. He is charged with vehicular homicide, three counts of reckless driving with serious bodily injury and reckless driving with property damage.

Deputies say Claudio was speeding west along Shell Point Road when he crashed into a van at 15th Street. Everyone in the family van was injured. The 10-year-old didn't survive.

Claudio remains in Orient Road Jail without bail.
