No one injured as stealth guest rips three roofs

A wind shear so brief and sudden it wasn't picked up by weather radar damaged the roofs of three mobile homes Thursday afternoon. According to Pasco County Fire and Rescue, the draft whipped through about 3:30 p.m., tearing aluminum off three double-wide mobile homes on Lucy Drive in Terrace Park Estates mobile home park, off County Road 54 and New River Road. No injuries were reported, and no residents were displaced.


Pregnancy center open house today

Cornerstone Center for Women, a faith-based support center for pregnant women, is holding an open house at 10 a.m. today in its new location at 14310 10th St. Cornerstone was originally located in the old parsonage in front of the First Baptist Church, Dade City. The center offers such services as parenting education, budgeting classes and food and housing referrals, as well as adoption support, postabortion counseling and Bible studies.
