14th Annual Senior Soccer Challenge

Who: Pinellas boys and girls all-stars against Hillsborough

Where: Countryside

When: Tonight, girls at 6 p.m. and boys at 8 p.m.

Admission: $8 for adults and $6 for students/youth. Parking is $2.

At stake: A total of $5,000 in scholarship money will be handed out. A player from each of the four teams will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship based on an essay contest. The MVPs from each team will get $250 each.

History: Started by Frank Ferguson, the match is now organized by longtime area soccer supporters Allen and Cindy Witherilt. The Pinellas girls have won the past four matches while the Hillsborough boys enjoy an 8-5 overall series advantage, including a 5-2 thumping last year.
