Premier Martial Arts of Tampa Bay, 12719 Race Track Road, will celebrate a grand re-opening from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
The martial arts center opened in the Westchase area in August but came under new ownership and a new look in February.
Professional pilot Edward Scoppa was the first student at Premier. As its new owner, he's added kickboxing and is trying out a street-smart self-defense class.
Martial arts are both popular and practical, he said, appealing to many children and families in the area.
Chief instructor Hugo Villalba has a great following, Scoppa said. If that loyalty is strong enough, look for additional locations.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Friday and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. Call 813 855-6152.
