United Way seeks volunteers to help

The United Way of Citrus County seeks community volunteers to help review local nonprofit organizations that seek affiliation and funding. Volunteers conduct site visits of agencies, review program goals and results and make a recommendation to the United Way board of directors for future funding. Here's what's involved: a one-hour orientation Thursday, five hours visiting six or seven agencies, and about six hours one evening in April hearing presentations and preparing recommendations. Interested? Call the United Way at 527-8894, e-mail citrusunitedway@ unitedway.org or stop by the office at 5399 W Gulf to Lake Highway, Lecanto.
