- DAV Scholarship: Disabled American Veterans Gerald A. Shonk Chapter 70 of Inverness is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a veteran or a dependent of a veteran.
To apply, the student must write a statement detailing his or her intended subject of study and why he or she deserves the award. The recipient must be enrolled in a full-time course of instruction.
Applications are available in school guidance offices and at Central Florida Community College or by calling John Seaman at 860-0123. Deadline is Friday.

- Woman's Club Scholarship: The Yankeetown-Inglis Woman's Club is offering several $500 college scholarships to students who live in Yankeetown or Inglis, attended Yankeetown School and graduated from or will graduate from Dunnellon High School or Crystal River High School.
Also eligible are home-schooled seniors, college students and those who have worked after graduation but now have education plans.
Criteria include an essay, a questionnaire, at least a 3.0 GPA and a recommendation from a teacher or counselor. Applications are available from guidance counselors at Dunnellon or Crystal River high schools or the A.F. Knotts Library on 56th Street in Yankeetown.
Completed applications should be mailed to the Yankeetown-Inglis Woman's Club Education Committee, P.O. Box 298, Yankeetown, FL 34498. Deadline is April 1.
