Wachovia bank branch is robbed

DUNEDIN - Sheriff's detectives were investigating a bank robbery Tuesday at a Wachovia branch at Main Street and Keene Road. According to officials, a man walked into the bank at 1483 Main St. at 3:19 p.m. and gave a teller a note demanding cash and claiming he was armed. The teller complied, and the man left with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was described as a white man in his mid 30s, about 5 feet 11 and 170 pounds. He had dark brown hair in a ponytail and wore a Tampa Bay Buccaneers cap. New Port Richey motorcyclist hurt
CLEARWATER - Michael Alan Kegg, 34, of New Port Richey was in critical condition Tuesday after losing control of his motorcycle Monday night on Clearwater Memorial Causeway, police said. The 9:21 p.m. crash happened as two motorcycles sped from Clearwater Beach toward the mainland, police said. Witnesses told police that the motorcycles, though moving fast, did not appear to be racing when the wreck took place. Motorcyclist James A. Fink, 29, of Holiday was thrown to the road, but he was not injured, police said.
