TAMPA MAN SOUGHT IN SHOOTING Police are looking for a Jamaican nicknamed "Shocker" who is suspected of shooting a Tampa man in the abdomen late Tuesday. Roger Nealey II, 32, of 3807 N 51st St. was rushed into surgery at Tampa General Hospital, where a bullet was removed from his abdomen. Tampa police said he was in stable but critical condition. Sometime about 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, a man went to 2005 E 31st Ave. and asked for Nealey, police said. Once Nealey emerged, the man chased him. The two argued in a courtyard before the man pulled out a small-caliber firearm and shot Nealey once, police said. Police said the suspect is a Jamaican man with a thin to medium build whose first name is Peter. The shooter fled in a white, 1980s to '90s, two-door Honda with a "scoop" on the rear. Anyone with information is asked to call Tampa police at (813) 276-3200. Gregory Allen Reed, 38, locked himself inside his home on River Hills Drive after beating his girlfriend, Tampa police said. The woman told police she thought he might have a weapon so a Tactical Response Team was dispatched about 6 a.m. Officers forced their way into the home through a rear sliding glass door and arrested Reed without incident; they recovered a pellet gun, reports show. Reed faces battery charges in the incident and in an earlier altercation. NEW PORT RICHEY Man accused of theft, exploitation A Hernando Beach man was arrested Tuesday and charged with grand theft and exploitation of the elderly. He set up an annuity account with himself as the beneficiary and then wrote himself checks worth nearly $375,000, Pasco authorities said. Barton was free Tuesday night on $20,000 bail.
