DOG ISLAND LAND DONATION TO HELP STUDENTS, PROGRAM AT INDIANA UNIVERSITY

An Indiana University alumnus has donated nearly $2-million in undeveloped land on Dog Island to the university's business school so students can figure out how to develop it. Stanley W. Benecki, a 1981 Indiana graduate who designs luxury homes, donated the land off the northwestern Florida coast that is accessible only by plane or boat. Proceeds from the land sale would establish and support endowments for the school's Center for Real Estate Studies, a professorship and an undergraduate scholarship program, all of which would be named for Benecki, who was in the real estate program when he was a student.
