Get tickets for Knight's annual auction, dinner

Tuesday is the deadline to buy tickets to the annual auction hosted by the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary 11317, which will be March 24 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church on Spring Hill Drive. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. and dinner will be at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10. Call Jan at 683-8457, Mary at 688-7664, Carol at 688-1685 or Mabel at 686-2576.


Church ham dinner set for March 24

The Ladies Aide of Nobleton Church will host a ham and beans supper from 4 to 6 p.m. March 24 in the fellowship hall, 29071 Sentinel St.

The dinner will include cole slaw, desserts, rolls, coffee and tea. A $5 donation is requested for the meal. For information, call 796-5988.


Peace coalition holds two meetings on Iraq

The NatureCoast Coalition for Peace and Justice will host two townhall meetings on the Iraq War:

- Noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the East Hernando Branch Library, 6457 Windmere Road, east of Brooksville in Ridge Manor West.

- 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 29 at Lykes Memorial Library, 238 Howell Ave.

To be discussed will be the growing threat of war with Iran and the newest request from the Bush administration for an increase in Iraq war funding. For information, call Brian Moore at 686-9936.


Celebration to honor military retirees

The 2007 Military Retiree Appreciation Day will be March 24 at the Rosen Plaza Hotel, 9700 International Drive. The event is hosted by the Fort Stewart Retirement Services Office and the Third Infantry Division Mechanized and Fort Stewart, Ga.

Registration will be from 8 to 9 a.m. A speaker's program will begin at 9:15 a.m. and will address military retiree legislation, pay, benefits and issues. Following will be a "county fair" from noon to 3 p.m. Information and assistance will be provided by Fort Stewart Retirement Services, Casualty Area Command, Social Security Administration, Veterans Affairs, TRICARE, Delta Dental, AAFES, Commissary and various veteran service organizations. Military ID card personnel will be available to issue military ID Cards.

Attendees with proper handicap parking permits will receive complimentary valet parking.
