Tampa house burns - again

TAMPA - Fire destroyed a vacant two-story home near downtown Saturday afternoon. It is the third time the structure has caught fire since June and the fourth fire in the downtown area this month, but authorities say they are not linked. Shortly before 4 p.m., Tampa Fire Rescue firefighters found the house at 110 E Warren Ave. engulfed in flames, which threatened the home next door. They controlled the fire in about 30 minutes. No one was injured but the house was a total loss. Code Enforcement will work with the owner, 83-year-old David Jones of West Tampa, to get the property torn down as soon as possible, said a Tampa Fire Rescue report. The cause of the fire is still under investigation but officials involved say there is no evidence linking the fire with others in Tampa.
