Citrus County Fair opening day

Here's a look at the schedule. The fairgrounds are at 3600 S Florida Ave. (U.S. 41), Inverness.

Dollar Night: Admission $1. All rides $1. Free parking. Fair opens at 5 p.m.

Also at 5 p.m.:

- Opening ceremony at flagpole

- Exhibit buildings and midway open

- Citrus Shrine Club clowns at Jacobs Building

- Johnson's Exotic Petting Zoo and pony rides along U.S. 41

- Charles and Yvonne Viet , organ grinder and monkey

- Rabbit show at livestock complex

- Tall Tex strolling act

5:15 p.m.: Karen Giles, auditorium

5:30 p.m. : Oscar strolling act

6:15 p.m.: Tall Tex strolling act, Darva Amos, auditorium

7 p.m.: Open heifer show, livestock complex

7:15 p.m.: Jimmy Amos, auditorium and Oscar strolling act

8 p.m.: Tall Tex strolling act

8:15 p.m.: Julie Wernicke, auditorium

9:15 p.m.: Tall Tex strolling act

10 p.m.: Exhibit buildings close
