Man who died in one-vehicle crash identified

The Florida Highway Patrol has identified the man who was killed in a single-vehicle crash north of town as Charles Brown, 48, of 75 NW Fifth St., Apt. 4. According to the FHP, Brown, driving a 1998 Dodge van, was traveling north on N Citrus Avenue at 3:30 a.m. Saturday when he failed to stop at the intersection of W Riverbend Road. He left the roadway and struck a tree. He was not wearing a seat belt, the FHP said.

Kings Bay group seeks vintage pics

The Kings Bay Association will meet at 7:15 p.m. March 29 at the Old Railroad Depot, 790 Crystal St. The group is still searching for old photos of the Crystal River and/or Kings Bay taken from the 1950s, '60s and early '70s. BROOKSVILLE

Old manager could be new manager

Former Crystal River City Manager Susan Boyer is among the 36 applicants seeking to become Brooksville's next city manager. The application period closed at 5 p.m. Friday. The job has been open since Richard Anderson was forced out by the City Council in January. The job pays $69,000 to $107,000, depending on qualifications.
