Ombudsman council to meet March 29

The Withlacoochee Long-Term Care Ombudsman Council will meet at 10 a.m. March 29 at 1582 County Road 459. The council is made up of local ombudsmen whose goal is to improve the quality of life and care of residents of long-term care facilities. An ombudsman is a specially trained and certified volunteer approved by the governor and given authority under federal and state law to identify, investigate and resolve complaints. DUNNELLON

Fly-in will raise money for heart association

The Tri-County Radio Control Club will host its Big Bird Fly-In at 9 a.m. April 14 at Rainbow R/C Park on Bridges Road off County Road 484. Follow signs to field. Parking is $2 for nonpilots. Event to benefit the American Heart Association. Limited seating; bring folding chair. Food and refreshments available at Rainbow Cafe.
