Civitan club recruiting volunteers for groups

CLEARWATER

The Clearwater Civitan Club is recruiting volunteers at least age 18 to help others either in group projects or individually.

The Civitans offer leadership opportunities and support new ideas and projects that improve the quality of life in this community, state and nation.

The club offers volunteer assistance to local organizations such as Upper Pinellas Association for Retarded Citizens, Deaf Services Center, Clearwater Little League, Horses for the Handicapped, Meals on Wheels, La Clinica Guadalupana and the Homeless Emergency Project.

The Clearwater Civitan Club meets regularly at 6:30 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of each month at the Community Center of the Homeless Emergency Project, 1260 Engman St., Clearwater. Call (727) 584-0461 or (727) 791-3861.

SPCA seeks weekday volunteers for office

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Tampa Bay is seeking weekday volunteers to serve as office assistants for various shelter departments. Help is needed with graphics, Web design and data entry. Animal lovers will enjoy a volunteer opportunity that is vital to saving homeless pets and will meet and network with fellow animal lovers with similar interests.
