The senior right-hander retired the first 15 he faced, allowing just one ball out of the infield during that stretch. Gordon went the distance, fanning eight. Hitter(s) of the day: Sickles DH Michael Cora went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles off the fence. ...Spoto's Arley Benton was 2-for-4, including a tying two-run homer with one out in the seventh. Defensive gem of the day: Little went right for the Indians, but they did turn a quick 5-4-3 double play on a sharp liner by Austin Black. Did you know?: There has been no shortage of homers at Chamberlain. There have been long balls in each of the first five games, seven total. Dugout chatter: "We were just swinging for the sake of swinging (Monday). We only hit two balls hard all night," East Bay coach Nelson Menendez after the Indians were three-hit by Gordon.
