Cost of stamps will increase by 2 cents

WASHINGTON The post office governing board agreed Monday to accept the new 41-cent rate for first class mail recommended in February by the independent Postal Regulatory Commission. The cost of mailing a letter will go up two cents on May 14, but you'll be able to lock in that price - no matter how rates rise in the future - by buying the new "forever" stamp, which could go on sale next month. It will sell for 41 cent but won't have a price printed on it. NEW YORK Detectives plead not guilty in killing Two officers charged with killing an unarmed man in a flurry of bullets on his wedding day pleaded not guilty Monday. Detectives Michael Oliver and Gescard Isnora are accused of first- and second-degree manslaughter in the death of Sean Bell, 23, in November. A third officer, Detective Marc Cooper, is charged with reckless endangerment. He also pleaded not guilty.
