A woman was taken to the hospital for observation Monday after suffering smoke inhalation in a mobile home fire. Dale Duncan, 6828 N Birch Terrace, was in her mobile home when the fire started about 11 a.m. A neighbor, Jim Seifert , said he received a phone call from her and rushed over with a fire extinguisher. When that emptied, he used a garden hose to douse the flames, which were mostly beneath the mobile home, he said. Seifert said the fire started in an air conditioner outside the home. Smoke and some flames entered the home through the vents, he said. Firefighters arrived and extinguished the fire. Duncan was transported to Citrus Memorial Health System in Inverness, where a spokeswoman said she was treated and released.
