Pitcher of the day: Newsome had another stellar outing from a starting pitcher as senior Matt Greer pitched a complete-game two hitter. Greer struck out 10 as the Wolves advanced out of the bracket with a tiebreaker win, having allowed the fewest runs.

Hitter of the day: Freedom's Zac Predomo was 1-for-3 on the day, but made his one count with a two-run homer for the Patriots in the fourth.

Defensive gem of the day: Robinson first baseman Spencer Montague showed tremendous hustle, ranging back in foul territory to make a over-the-shoulder basket catch.

Did you know?: After earning his first save of the season in a 5-3 win over Plant City on Monday, Knights pitcher Trace Venegas improved to 1-0 on the season, striking out nine Bulls.
