Correction

Because of incorrect information provided by Spring Hill Fire Rescue, a March 10 article said the fire that killed 3-month-old Roman Washington went undetected, in part, because the house's smoke detectors did not have batteries. But Assistant Chief Bill Davies said on Wednesday that the smoke detectors were hard-wired and should have sounded even without batteries. When rescuers entered the house, however, the detectors were not beeping.
