CLAIR MEL CITY - Gunfire late Thursday wounded a teenager in the head wound and a second person in the hand.

Hillsborough Sheriff's deputies rushed to 8520 Riden Road shortly after 10 p.m., where they found the injured teenager, described by Sheriff's Lt. Andy Ross as 15 to 16 years old.

Ross said the youth was taken to Tampa General Hospital for surgery, and he didn't know his condition. The second wounded man was dropped off at TGH independently, he said.

Deputies believe it was a drive-by shooting. They saturated the area with squad cars and in about an hour they had tracked down a dark pickup truck and an orange sedan they believe were involved in the case.
