Janitor accused of lewd act

Clearwater police arrested a school janitor Thursday on a charge he touched the chest of an 11-year-old female student. Drew Forman Zakrajsek, 38, a maintenance employee at Skycrest Elementary School, was arrested about noon and charged with one count of lewd and lascivious molestation of a child. Zakrajsek, of 100 Hampton Road in Clearwater, was being held Thursday night on $20,000 bail at the Pinellas County Jail. Investigators believe he befriended the girl and gave her money on several occasions, although they do not suspect the money was ever used in exchange for sexual favors. On Thursday morning, after learning of the alleged incident, investigators confronted Zakrajsek. Police said he acknowledged that he had touched the child. Pinellas County school officials could not be reached for comment. Clearwater police are continuing the investigation.

I live literally across the street from this man and everyday he sits on his porch and is free to walk around and do what he pleases. I'm 19 and have been affected by people of his nature. Where is the justice in him being free?

This is such a scary world and it seems as if our children are not safe anywhere. My daughter attends Skycrest and it is an excellent school with a loving and caring principle and dedicated teachers. The question is how do we protect our children?
