William Hommel, wanted for questioning in the death of his former roommate, Patricia Steck, has been found by U.S. marshals at a homeless shelter in Houston.

Pinellas County Sheriff's Office homicide detectives flew Friday evening to Houston, where Hommel was being held on an outstanding Hillsborough County grand theft warrant. Detectives began searching for the 61-year-old Hommel after Steck was reported missing earlier this month. On March 9, Steck's body was found covered with concrete under the floor of her Largo mobile home.

Hommel said he did not kill Steck, but he did admit to collecting her Social Security income, detectives said.

Potential charges of fraud and improper body disposal are pending.

Autopsy results on Steck were not available Sunday.

Hommel will remain in jail in Texas on the Hillsborough grand theft warrant.
