BRANDON - The Hillsborough Sheriff's Office is looking for an armed man who has robbed six wireless sales centers and a bank over the last few months. Since Dec. 13, he has hit Metro PCS stores in Brandon and Tampa, a Wireless Zone store in Valrico and Colonial Bank in Seffner. His most recent robbery came on March 16, when authorities said he struck the La Fiesta Food Store and Metro PCS at 14670 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Dover. He is described as being of average height and weight and between 20 and 25 years old. He may be driving a tan, four-door Buick Century. Anyone with information can call the Sheriff's Office at (813) 247-8200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-8477. Victim, suspect unknown in hit-run TAMPA - Tampa police are using fingerprints to try to identify a man killed in a hit and run Saturday night. They're also searching for the suspect vehicle. Police said the victim, a white man in his 50s, was walking west across Nebraska Avenue when a tan midsize car hit him and fled the scene without stopping. The victim died at St. Joseph's Hospital at 11:10 p.m. Police say the suspect car may be a mid 1990s model Toyota with tinted windows and a shade covering its rear window. The car may have front-end damage. Anyone with information on the crime can call Tampa police at (813) 276-3586. Man dies, wife hurt in crosswalk crash LARGO - An elderly Largo man was killed and his wife injured Sunday night when they tried to cross Missouri Avenue and were struck by a sport utility vehicle, authorities said. The couple, Armando and Mary Fallo, 85 and 80, respectively, apparently pressed the walk button at Jasper Street but couldn't cross the six lanes of Missouri before the light changed, police Sgt. Butch Ward said. They were both struck by a 1999 Ford Expedition driven by Laura Joy Kile, 38, he said. Police were still investigating Monday, but no charges had been filed. The Fallos and a third pedestrian, Helen Zurag, 85, were walking west across Missouri when the light changed, Ward said. The Fallos left the crosswalk and angled southwest toward the curb when Kile, who was traveling south, veered to miss Zurag and struck them. Armando Fallo suffered a broken leg and his wife a broken arm - injuries that emergency workers didn't consider life threatening, authorities said. However, Fallo's condition worsened at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, where he died later Sunday night. Citrus County man Tasered in struggle HERNANDO - A man was arrested Saturday afternoon and accused of struggling with a Citrus County deputy and dragging him across a parking lot with his car. Authorities say the attack happened when Gregory Scott Meeks, 22, of 4765 S Orchard St. in Homosassa resisted a deputy's attempts to remove him from his car. The deputy used his Taser to give Meeks an electric jolt and grappled with him as he tried to drive away, according to the arrest report. Meeks was held on charges of resisting an officer, aggravated assault on an officer, reckless driving and driving with a suspended license. He remains in the county jail.

I am not blaming the poor woman who hit my Uncle, but seniors have a right to walk in a crosswalk safely. The DOT needs to change the time allowed. A wonderful, kind man has died needlessly, we are all very sad.
