Today's Chasco schedule

NEW PORT RICHEY - Grab your dancing shoes, because the highlight of today's Chasco Fiesta agenda is dance contests to music by the Dan McMillion Jazz Orchestra from 6 to 10 p.m.

The night is called "Dancing Under the Stars," and weather forecasters are indeed predicting a clear, starry night.

There will be a smooth dance floor, so "tripping the light fantastic" won't involve any real tripping.

Contestants will be vying for several prizes, including gift certificates to area restaurants. The grand prize is a Presto HP Printer (also called a "printing mailbox") to receive e-mails and photos through a telephone line without a computer.

Today is also the last day for the Chasco Fiesta Flea Market at the New Port Richey Recreation Center from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This year's event is hosted by First United Methodist Church.

The carnival and food vendors will also be open before and during the dance contests.
