Brooksville cuts manager list to 10

BROOKSVILLE - Thirty-six people applied to be Brooksville's next city manager, but now the list is down to 10. Human resources directors from Brooksville, Hernando County and the Southwest Florida Water Management District reviewed the applicants and narrowed the field. The resumes will be forwarded to the City Council, which is planning a workshop week to narrow down the field even further. Among the finalists are some local names: - Susan Boyer, former city manager of Crystal River - Jennene Norman-Vacha, who served in a number of positions for Hernando County, including deputy county administrator. The other applicants are: - Lester Baird Sr., county administrator of Hendry County - Mitchell Bobowski, former general services director for Seminole - Ray Britt Jr., general services director for Palm Coast - Thomas Christie, former city manager for Talladega, Ala. - Michael Hartman, town administrator of Wareham, Mass. - Fred Hays, who has been manager at several cities, including Alachua and Fernandina Beach - Patricia Quigley, former city manager for Woodstock, Ga. - John Zakian, former assistant city administrator for West Palm Beach.
