LHP Scott Kazmir got through the spring without any suggestion of the shoulder problems that plagued him last year, which may have been the best sign of spring.

RHP Seth McClung had another rough outing Wednesday. He looks like he may have pitched his way to Triple-A Durham, having given up 12 runs and allowing 25 baserunners in 91/3 spring innings.

With three doubles Wednesday, Rays utility infielder Jorge Velandia is hitting .318 in the spring.
