Retired man jailed on child pornography charges

TAMPA - A Temple Terrace retiree has been charged with 804 counts of possession of child pornography, after detectives searched the contents of his home computer. Eugene Gary Conklin, 64, of 11850 Sophia Drive, came to the attention of detectives in January when his wife reported to police that she had seen him viewing child pornography on his computer screen, Temple Terrace police said in an arrest report filed at the Orient Road jail. The report says the pictures were of prepubescent children engaged in sexually explicit activities and poses. Conklin was being held on $1.6-million bail Friday night.
