The chocolate bunny may rule the Easter basket, but when it comes to the cuddle factor, nothing beats the real thing. Instead of filling your kiddies' baskets with sugary sweets, consider an addition to the family. Contact the Humane Society of Tampa Bay to learn about proper care and to help determine whether your family should adopt a bunny. Call (813) 876-7138. Pictured: rabbit courtesy of Pet Supermarket, $24.99 Easter. It greets us when there's only a tickle of spring in the air and blossoms are all around. It's a time of possibilities. The holiday also marks the time for honored family traditions, celebrating and gift giving. With a sunny forecast for this year's holiday, Sunday, it's a good time to put a twist on some favorite Easter traditions. There's something about spring that brings out a woman's girlie side. And Easter baskets need not be just for kids. Your girlie-girls will thank you for a handmade goddess basket full of diva stuff. Pictured: flowered basket, $9; emery board, pumice stone, back massager and Diva Sleeping night mask, each $1 at Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Store. Surprise family and friends with an Edible Arrangement. Visit ediblearrangements.com to order online or find a location in the Tampa Bay area. Pictured: Hearts and Berries bouquet, $58.

Live rabbits are not delightful novelty items that put a twist on holiday traditions. They require a great deal of attention, love and care. The decision to adopt one should not be an impulse buy at the Pet "Supermarket", Humane Society only please!

Why encourage parents to buy rabbits??? There are already so many animals being euthanized on a daily basis because a family did not know how to care for an animal. Parents, stick to chocolate bunnies!!

Great. More parents giving in to their whiny little brats then decide the pet is too much work and take it back/abandon it or worse. Some people just do not think.

NICE JOB! More abused rabbits given to children too young to appreciate the responsibility. For how many years now has the human society asked that folks not buy pets for holiday "presents?" Way to embrace stupidity.
