1 The Namesake - Director Mira Nair skillfully traces the generation gap between Indian parents and their Americanized offspring.

2 The Hoax - Literary con artist Clifford Irving (Richard Gere) sells a bogus autobiography of tycoon Howard Hughes. Catch him if you can.

3 Blades of Glory - Will Ferrell and Jon Heder do almost anything for laughs in a sharp mockery of professional figure skating.

4 The Host - South Korean director Joon-ho Bong unleashes an eco-horror flick with one of the coolest creatures in years.

5 The Lookout - Joseph Gordon-Levitt shines as a brain-damaged man lured into a bank robbery scheme. Familiar material (Fargo, Memento) gets a neat makeover.
