CAIRO - U.S. House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., met a leader of the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt's largest opposition group, during a visit to Egypt on Thursday, U.S. officials and the Islamist group said Saturday. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has refused in the past to meet with the Muslim Brotherhood. But U.S. Embassy spokesman John Berry said Hoyer's talks were not a change in U.S. policy. The State Department and the White House had no comment. The vehicle had caught fire, and the blast occurred as the driver and others tried to choke the fire with sand, Inspector General K. Radhakrishnan said. Chendur is 80 miles south of Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu state.
