ToyoDoc has moved to 15480 Cortez Blvd., a half-mile east of the Suncoast Parkway, west of Brooksville. Prior to the move, the family-owned business had operated off Sunshine Grove Road in Brooksville for three years. For information or to make an appointment, call 796-6262. * * * The Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for the 2007 Leadership Hernando program. Participants in Leadership Hernando are local business people and civic-minded leaders and potential leaders who want to learn more about the community. The program consists of semiweekly sessions, which begin June 6 and conclude with graduation in November. Each session is a combination of presentations, discussions and tours covering topics such as Hernando County's education system, culture, government, the local news media, agriculture, business development and health care issues. Who's news Dr. Robert Blackburn, board certified osteopathic family practice physician, attended the 44th annual American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians Convention and Exhibition at the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center in Kissimmee, March 13-18. On March 16, Dr. Robert George, dean of the Sarasota-Bradenton branch of the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, sponsored Blackburn at the Conclave of Fellows awards ceremony. The award is in recognition of outstanding contributions through teaching, authorship, research and professional leadership to the osteopathic family physicians organization. Blackburn's scientific paper, "Botox: A Cosmetic Procedure in the Family Practice Setting," was published in the February issue of The Osteopathic Family Physician News. A member of the Center for Procedural Excellence Committee, Blackburn lectured on "Spirometry in the Family Practice Setting." The three-hour seminar, conducted by Bill Brydia, will start with a marketing audit to help establish reasonable goals and objectives. Junior Achievement provides the curriculum, "Economics of Staying in School," and the chamber provides volunteers and sponsorships. The pilot session is scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon April 17 at Parrott Middle School, 19220 Youth Drive, Brooksville, with three volunteers per classroom. A one-hour training session will be held prior to the class.
