Soldier killed by bomb in Baghdad

A Florida soldier was killed by a roadside bomb in Baghdad, the military said Monday. Pfc. Derek A. Gibson, 20, of Eustis was killed Wednesday, the military said.

Gibson was assigned to Fort Carson, Colo. At least 192 soldiers from the post near Colorado Springs have died in Iraq since the invasion four years ago.

 

Cell phone bill on hold

TALLAHASSEE - A measure that would have made it against the law to talk on a cell phone or send text messages while driving was put on hold in the state Senate on Monday. The panel didn't take a vote because there's no companion measure in the House.
