PLANNING UNDER WAY FOR TOWN'S JULY 4 PARADE, FESTIVAL

Kenneth City is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and planning is under way for the town's annual July 4 Independence Day parade and festival.

Organizers say the popular event attracts thousands of residents each year. This year's special theme is "Happy Birthday."

Planners are seeking businesses, community associations, marching bands, and civic organizations to participate in the 1-mile parade that starts at 9 a.m. on July 4.

Registration forms are available at City Hall at 6000 54th Ave. N. There are no registration fees to march in the parade.

Festival organizers also seek businesses and organizations willing to sponsor children's activities, including games and bounce houses.
