'Kyoto Rediscovered: Paintings & Collages by Jim Sikes' is at the Pasco Art Council's art center, 5744 Moog Road, Holiday, through May 5. A reception with the artist is from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. Free.

The Performing Arts Guild of Pasco County is holding its annual luncheon and show at 11:30 a.m. today at Spartan Manor, Massachusetts Avenue, New Port Richey. The "Singing Strings" quartet will entertain. Lunch is $13.

Large acrylics by Sally M. Segal will be exhibited Thursday through May 4 at West Pasco Art Guild, Inc., 6206 Jefferson St., New Port Richey. Gallery hours are 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Richey Concert Band will present "Concert in the Park" at 2:30 p.m. at the band shell at Sims Park, downtown New Port Richey. Wagner's opera 'Das Rheingold' will be performed in English at 8 p.m. April 20 and 27 and 2 p.m. April 22 and 29 at the Tarpon Springs Performing Arts Center, 324 Pine St., Tarpon Springs. The Jacaranda Poetry Festival and Awards will be held at 1 p.m. April 21 at the Pasco Arts Council, 5744 Moog Road, Holiday. Some 113 poems were entered in the first festival competition, and winners will be announced sometime during the afternoon. Performance poet Stazja McFadyen will read some of the entries. Other poets will read their own or others' entries.

APRIL 21

"Shakespeare's Sisters, Shakespeare's Sonnets" will be the topic of an interactive presentation by Carmine Bell at 3 p.m. April 21 at New Port Richey Public Library, 5939 Main St., New Port Richey. Works by Shakespeare and female sonnet writers Lady Mary Wroth, Elizabeth Barrett Browning and Edna St. Vincent Millay will be discussed. Ms. Bell teaches at Pasco-Hernando Community College.

APRIL 22

The annual Spring Bluegrass Festival will be held at Sertoma Youth Ranch off Clay Hill Road northwest of Dade City. Tickets for all three days are $39 if purchased by April 15 or $45 at the gate. Longleaf Fine Arts on the Village Green will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 28 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 29 in Longleaf off Starkey Boulevard just north of State Road 54 in Trinity. The event will have more than 40 juried fine artists and craftsmakers, live musical entertainment, a kids' art tent for creating and displaying art and food vendors.

Richey Community Orchestra will perform "Bits of Broadway" at 3 p.m. at the Center for the Arts at River Ridge, Town Center Road, New Port Richey. Guest performers are Jerry Slutzky and members of the Salerno Theatre Company doing highlights from The Music Man and other shows in costume. Tickets are $15.
