Players of the Week

Published April 13, 2007

Sam Donataccio, Hudson

The Cobras have been mired in a dreadful season, but they managed their first victory after 15 straight losses to open the season by knocking off South Sumter 10-6. Donataccio, a senior centerfielder, played the biggest role - he was 3-for-3, scored three times, drove in three runs and was walked once. "He did what he always does," coach Vince Ferlita said.

Michelle McKonly, River Ridge

The River Ridge junior enjoyed a solid three-game stretch where she went 7-for-12 including a double, a triple, three RBIs and five runs scored. McKonly is batting .570 and has a hit in all but two games. McKonly's efforts helped the Royal Knights to wins against Naples Lely (9-4), Palmetto Ranch (10-0) and Marion County (12-1). River Ridge is 19-4 on the season.
