Outlook: Plant City's boys (10-1) have been a local surprise but haven't faced the Sarasota schools yet. Sarasota Riverview rolled to both district titles last season.
Outlook: Wharton, a 2006 state tournament qualifier and the county's deepest team, should hold off Plant and Hillsborough in boys competition. ...Chamberlain's girls, state runnerups last season, should coast behind undefeated junior Jamie Mera.

Teams: Armwood, Auburndale, Brandon, Lakeland Jenkins, King, Lake Gibson, Lake Region, Tampa Bay Tech, Winter Haven
Outlook: This tournament is the Jenkins girls' to lose. Senior Monica Arguello, the defending 3A individual singles champion, leads a stacked team that includes younger sister Andrea.

Surface: Hard and clay

Teams: Academy of the Holy Names, Jesuit, Lennard, Newsome, Robinson, St. Petersburg Catholic, Spoto, Tampa Catholic
Outlook: Jesuit, which recently topped Wharton in a dual match, appears poised to reach the boys state tournament for the 13th time in the last 15 years.
Class A, District 9
Where: Kelly Recreation Complex, Lakeland (girls); Woodlake Park, Lakeland (boys)
First serve: Monday, 8 a.m. (girls); Monday, 8:30 a.m. (boys)
Teams: Winter Haven All Saints', Berkeley Prep, Cambridge, Fort Meade, Frostproof, Lakeland Christian, Lakeland McKeel, Saddlebrook, Santa Fe Catholic, Tampa Prep, Lake Wales Vanguard
Outlook: With defending boys and girls champ Tampa Prep in a rebuilding phase, the door is open for someone else to emerge. The guess here is it will be Saddlebrook, which twice topped Berkeley Prep's solid boys and girls teams in the regular season.
