The Hernando County Commission unanimously agreed Tuesday to allow the Times Publishing Co., parent company of the St. Petersburg Times, to put in a 48-foot wide driveway at its new distribution center on Winter Street.

The county typically allows 40-feet, said County Development Director Grant Tolbert. Tolbert said he recommended county approval because the Times agreed to eliminate a second driveway entrance. The center is under construction behind the Hernando Times building on State Road 50.

Commission Chairman Jeff Stabins asked, "Did they say anything about reducing the number of reporters that cover us?"
