Sixty teachers who have earned National Board Certification will be honored Tuesday during a Pinellas County School Board meeting.

The board also will recognize members of the district's Choice Task Force, which met monthly for more than two years to generate recommendations for a student assignment plan the district will use beginning with the 2008-09 school year.

The board meets at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the district administration building, 301 Fourth St. SW, Largo.

Also on the agenda is the release of the individual high school feedback reports, which are based on 2005 graduation rates and related statistics.

High school principals will analyze their schools' results to determine areas that need to be specifically addressed in their 2007-08 school improvement plans.

The public is invited to attend. Anyone wishing to speak on either agenda or nonagenda items can do so by filling out a form at or before the meeting.

Citizens may speak about any item on the agenda not involving a hearing on employee discipline by registering five minutes before the item is introduced.

The meeting will be televised at 6 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays for two weeks after the meeting. All broadcasts are shown on WPDS-Ch. 14.

Association's used book sale is April 28

The Pinellas Parent Educators Association Inc. will host its annual used book sale from 2:30 to 4 p.m. April 28 at Hope Presbyterian Church, 1698 S Belcher Road, Clearwater.

Used books, curriculum and other educational materials will be sold by PPEA members.

No children under age 14 will be admitted. Payment is by check only. Credit cards and cash will not be accepted.

For information about the book sale, PPEA or home education, go to the PPEA Web site at www.ppea-homeschool.com.
