ST. PETERSBURG John Brinkman, founder and publisher of American Bungalow magazine, will speak Saturday at 10 a.m. about the revitalization of America's interest in bungalows and the reasons that bungalow neighborhoods are America's 21st century frontier. The bungalow was an affordable choice for the common man 100 years ago, with a simple design and an awareness for the environment and family life. "Today we see an emerging renewal of interest in this ingeniously simple, uniquely American architectural form," Brinkman said. He will appear at Craftsman House, 2955 Central Ave. Admission is $10. American Bungalow is a quarterly magazine dedicated to homes of the early 20th century, the philosophy of the Arts and Crafts movement and the bungalow lifestyle.
