Kathleen Rose Hardick of New York City, daughter of Helene and Jack Hardick of St. Petersburg, graduated from the University of Buffalo's Medical School.

Hardick graduated magna cum laude in 1999 from Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y., where she received her bachelor's degree.

She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and was in charge of the crew team's boat navigation, known as a coxswain.

In 1995, Hardick graduated from Locust Valley High School in Locust Valley, N.Y., where she was homecoming queen and a member of the tennis and track teams.

She was a volunteer at Glen Cove Hospital in Glen Cove, N.Y., and is now an intern at Cabrini Hospital in Manhattan.

Shirley M. Lemoine of St. Petersburg, daughter of Victor Caban and Maria Alvarez of Pinellas Park, will graduate from St. Petersburg College's Clearwater campus with a degree in secondary biology education.

She was a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the National Scholars Honor Society, received the Florida Fund for Minority Teachers award and made honor roll.

Lemoine plans to pursue a career as a science teacher and is married to Andrew Lemoine.
