Weeki Wachee Springs has been selected as a site for the 20th annual Public Safety Divers National Championship and Forum from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday.
The event is presented by the International Association of Dive Rescue Specialists and the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
Some of the practical skills exhibited by the rescue divers will include rescue skills in which the participants race against the clock to properly don equipment and the rescue of an unconscious diver on the surface. An underwater navigation and obstacle course is also planned.

The Hernando Builders Association will host its first "Bang Bang" Sporting Clays Tournament on May 4 at Deer Creek Sporting Clays Range, 10514 Ehrens Cutoff Road in Land O'Lakes.
Teams include four shooters. The entry fee is $99 per shooter. Check-in will be at 8 a.m. and the tournament will start at 9 a.m., followed by a catered lunch, raffles and awards.
A portion of the proceeds will go to the sheriffs' Youth Ranch.

The Service Corps of Retired Executives, Pasco-Hernando Chapter 439, will offer a seminar, "How to Really Start Your Own Business," from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Career Central, 7361 Forest Oaks Blvd., Spring Hill.
Participants will learn how to test and protect their ideas, file for an occupational license, register the company name and file for a federal identification number. Other key issues include how to structure the business, prepare a business plan and maintain cash flow. Contours Express of Brooksville, Spring Hill and Ridge Manor has announced the installation of an infrared sauna at the Brooksville location at 857 S Broad St.
Owners Janet Carr and Tracey Pager have completed the special training certification for this type of sauna operation. They also trained all personal trainers on staff on how to best use and operate the sauna for their clients.
This infrared sauna does not produce steam and is used to detoxify the body.
Contours Express also offers massage therapy services at all locations. A massage therapist is on staff Thursday mornings at the Spring Hill Contours Express, 3087 Anderson Snow Road; Tuesdays at the Brooksville Contours Express; and Mondays at the Ridge Manor Contours Express, 31087 Cortez Blvd.

Action Potential LLC has been awarded its Medicare Part B group provider number, which allows the new facility to expand and add additional Medicare-certified physical and occupational therapists.
Action Potential is a rehabilitation and sports medicine clinic at 6119 Deltona Blvd., Spring Hill, that offers physical therapy services to Medicare patients, motor vehicle accident victims and worker's compensation, select Medicare HMOs, private insurance and private-pay clients.
The clinic opened in January and is owned by John and Randi Allocco. John is a master of physical therapy and is the rehabilitation director. Randi is a registered nurse and the office manager.

Domenick Maglio, owner and director of Wider Horizons School in Spring Hill, was recently assigned to evaluate and accredit the Cornerstone Day School in Springfield, N.J.
The New Jersey school is seeking accreditation with the National Independent Private Schools Association, and Maglio is a member of the association's accreditation committee.

Oak Hill Hospital has announced its Star Associates for the month of April. Each month, hospital associates are chosen in a process that involves nominations and voting by peers, patients, patient families and physicians.
The "stars" for April include:
Russel Vilardi, stress technician. Vilardi joined Oak Hill in August 1991 and is the EKG stress test department's lead technician, performing cardiac stress tests, inpatient and outpatient EKGs and Holter monitor scanning. Vilardi and his wife Phyllis live in Spring Hill. They have two daughters, one son and two granddaughters.
Tina Nuccitelli, patient care assistant. Nuccitelli began working at Oak Hill in August 2005 in the technical care unit. She lives in Spring Hill and has an adult daughter and son.
Emory Alexsuk, assistant controller. Alexsuk began working at Oak Hill in 1985, soon after it opened. He and his wife, Nancy, have two children and live in Spring Hill.
