Anna Mae Kitchen, of St. Petersburg, will celebrate her 100th birthday Monday.

She was born on April 30, 1907, in Wilcox County, Ga., the daughter of Rue and Mini Lawson.

She met and married J.B. Hooks, and later the couple had a daughter, Lillie Mae Hooks.

Kitchen moved to the area from Los Angeles in 1989. She was remarried to Arthur Kitchen and provided care for children.

Today, Kitchen enjoys attending church, reading the Bible, watching television, shelling peas and gardening.
