Class 3A, Region 2 Track Meet

What: Athletes from Central and Springstead will compete for a chance to go to next weekend's state championships.

When/where: Today, Titusville Astronaut High

Athletes to watch

DuJuan Harris, Central: The senior won district titles in the 100, 200, long jump and triple jump last week, but he'll have some serious competition in all four events this week. Harris' 10.87 100-meter dash was the second-fastest of the athletes who will compete today, but four others broke 11 seconds at their district meets, including George Jenkins' Dante Sales (10.75). In the 200, Harris ran a 22.37, while Sales ran a 22.29. Four others in the field broke 23 seconds last week. In the long jump, Harris' 22-05 ranks him third behind Oak Ridge's Jeroyal Lewis (22-10) and Titusville's Marvin Robinson (22-08). In the triple jump, Harris's 44-02.50 ranks him third behind Oak Ridge's Jonathan Herrington (47-00) and Oak Ridge's Lewis (46-08).

Jeff Haynes, Springstead: Senior won a district title in the 110 hurdles, running a 15.05. He also qualified in the 300 hurdles and triple jump.

Jessie Hartman, Central: Senior placed second in districts in the discus with a 139-01.

Jasmine Hudson, Central: Sophomore placed second in the 100 and 200 at districts with times of 13.17 and 27.25, respectively

Jacklyn White, Springstead: Freshman placed third at districts in the 400 (1:03.40) and was part of the Eagles' 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams that qualified.

Jen Knoer, Springstead: Junior placed third in the high jump with a 4-10.

Tikeisi Relaford, Central: Senior placed second in the shot put with a throw of 33-10.25.
