Once and always a Spartan
Lakewood football players Kevin Hartzog, Jeff Ardis and Cedric Sutton all will be Spartans next season.

Lakewood football players Kevin Hartzog, Jeff Ardis and Cedric Sutton all will be Spartans next season. University of Dubuque Spartans, that is. The Lakewood trio signed with the Division III program in Iowa. Hartzog, a 5-11, 205-pound senior, will play quarterback for the Spartans. Lakewood coach Otis Dixon said Hartzog has a "chance to start by his sophomore year." Sutton will play safety and Ardis receiver. CCC SIGNEES: Clearwater Central Catholic senior linebacker Kevin Denison (Quincy University in Illinois), lineman Jay Campara (John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio) and linebacker/halfback Joe Strickland (St. Vincent's College in Latrobe, Pa.) picked their colleges. Anthony Leandri, a 2006 CCC grad, signed with Northern Michigan in Marquette. Leandri spent the last season as preferred walk-on at USF. DUNEDIN HOOPS: Dunedin point guard Chelsea Turgeon signed with West Florida, joining teammate, forward Kimarie Bock.
