Holiday

Faith United Methodist Church, 12128 State Road 52, is hosting a flea market from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today. From 8 to 11 a.m. breakfast will be served with scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, coffee, juice and a choice of blueberry pancakes, muffins or French toast. Cost is $4 for adults and $2 for children 10 and younger. Land O'Lakes Recreation Complex, Collier Parkway, will host the National Day of Prayer luncheon, sponsored by Christian Social Services at noon May 3. There will be a free will offering collected to benefit those helped by CSS. Call (813) 995-0088.

First United Methodist Church, 5209 Land O'Lakes Blvd., will have Larry Johnson, the Congregational Leader of the Shoresh David Messianic Congregation, as the guest speaker at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. He will give a demonstration of the blowing of the Shofar, a ram's horn and an instrument of the ancient and modern Hebrews. He will speak about the history of the horn from the time of Abraham to the final trumpet blast. During the service, he will demonstrate the four types of Shofar notes and tell the meanings of each set of notes. A picnic will be on the grounds after the service. Call (813) 995-3533.

Lutz

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 20735 Leonard Road, will present a message by vicar Ross Engel at the 8, 9:15 and 10:30 a.m. services Sunday. The theme of his message is "All or Nothing." Today is a yard work day at the church and it starts at 8:30 a.m. A benefit dinner for Audrey White, who has ALS, will be 5 to 6:30 p.m. May 5. New Port Richey

The Presbyterian Church of Seven Springs, 4651 Little Road, will host the West Pasco Unit of the Church Women United at noon Friday. A buffet-style lunch is planned with members bringing a dish to share. This year's theme, Friends Under God's Wing, encourages members to talk about the things that create compassionate and peaceful friendships with sisters in our community and the world. Congregation B'nai Emmunah, a Reform Jewish synagogue, 3374 Keystone Road, offers Shabbat evening services at 8 p.m. every Friday. A member-hosted Oneg follows each service.
