Defense sets tone for Seminole in win
A spectacular play early between Seminole and Northeast at a packed Brinker Field Stadium dictated the rest of the game.

SEMINOLE - A spectacular play early between Seminole and Northeast at a packed Brinker Field Stadium dictated the rest of the game. With two outs and runners on first and second, Seminole starter Patrick Eckelbarger looked on the verge of getting into deeper trouble when Nick Gaines roped a line-drive single to right. Austin Yee rounded third and appeared to be on a safe route to home, but the throw by rightfielder Joe Lamoreux was a perfect strike. "I saw it coming and knew we had him tagged, " said Eckelbarger (6-0). "After that, it allowed me to settle in and pitch with confidence." With Eckelbarger pitching a complete-game shutout, the Warhawks captured their first district title in three years. The offense provided all the runs Eckelbarger needed in the first when Billy Falasco singled home Dan Catalano. The Warhawks added another in the third before exploding for five in the fourth to chase Northeast starter Austin Gaines. During that inning, Falasco had his second triple in as many days to drive in two more runs. The senior captain finished 2-for-3 with three RBIs.

Seminole is on a role! Their past 4 games are shutouts 3 of which are complete games. If they can hold Dunedin to a small amount of runs like b4 then they will win. Seminole's offense is finnaly hitting as a team getting runs in any way possible.

Seminole held Dunedin to just 2 earned runs. If it was not for a lack of offense Seminole could have won the game. Time will tell but they can beat anyone when they play like they did against NE.

Seminole is a good team but they have GREAT chemistry and just enough offense/defense/pitching to go toe to toe with anyone. All teams now are excellent so anything can happen(Hilbert may even win a state crown!)Good luck to all Pinellas County teams

And you will lose. The Warhawks will win the next one. It's the next two rounds that will hurt. I do think they can get by either Dunedin or Jefferson. If they do, Venice or Middleton looms. Regardless, they had a good year.

Well 1st off no1 is named Dan Catalano on the seminole team. Bad reporting. And Joe made the best throw of the season to keep it a shutout. The offense was just overpowering along with our deffense. Look to see seminole working hard going places.
