EVENTS The Service Corps of Retired Executives, Pasco-Hernando Chapter 439 will offer a franchising seminar from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the SCORE office at 6014 U.S. 19, New Port Richey Bank of America building. The seminar will cover how to identify, evaluate and understand the choices available, as well as analyzing what kind of franchise best suits individual needs and goals. BRIEFS The Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce has been notified by the Florida Association of Chamber Professionals of a scam that is hitting chamber members throughout Florida and the United States. The scam involves phone calls from Premier Map Co. or ADS Enterprise, that claims to be selling advertising for a map they are producing with the chamber. The local chamber is not working with this company. The chamber is in a partnership with Heron Publishing in the selling of the map, relocation brochure and the chamber's directory. Any chamber member that receives a phone call from Premier or ADS is advised to call the Better Business Bureau and consumer complaint division by calling (727) 535-5522 or toll-free 1-800-435-7352.
